Is it Summer yet?

Sweet Summertime!

You cannot come quickly enough!

Summer is my favorite.  After 29 years of living in the sweltering heat, it doesn't really bother me anymore.

Sure, I complain about it, but that's just to hear myself talk mostly.

I love going to the beach with the kids.

I love getting to go back home to Louisiana & spending quality time with my family.

I love, especially, that my work gives us a half day every Friday starting the Friday after Memorial Day until the last Friday before Labor Day.

I love that this summer will be our 2nd annual Girls Only Beach Vacation.

I especially love that this year, instead of Orange Beach, we will be vacationing in Destin, Florida in a private condo that sits ON the beach with a beach view only 4 floors up!!

Are you excited about summer?

Any big plans?

Roadtrips?

Beach vacations?

My Weekend in Review

Howdy, y'all!

Have a good weekend??

Mine was pretty good.

I'll share via pictures! :)

What?  You don't go shopping for concert dresses during your work lunch hour??  LOL  I wore brown cowgirl boots with this dress, unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the whole outfit.

I'm a sucky photographer like that!  ;-)

Boots & country music concert.  What more could a girl ask for??

My concert buddies!

Waiting for Trace Adkins to take the stage!

And there he is!!

We were up on the balcony section.  We concluded Friday night that our seats were perfect as we're all too old to hang with the young folk nowadays!  LOL

Y'all!  Seriously, this man was sexy!  Long hair and all!!  HAHA

He's like the epitome of my dream man.

Super tall!

Muscular!

Country!

Uh...yes, please!

I swear me & my friend Shanna kept having to wipe drool off our chins every time he went down into this stance!

And when the man swiveled his hips......

*swoon*

That temp above is the exact reason why I did nothing on Saturday!

Well, I did go to Wal-Mart to pick up some necessities, but other than that.....lazy bum!

One of the "necessity" purchases at Wal-Mart!  I swear my daughter could live 24/7 in dresses & skirts.

I can NEVER get her to wear shorts and, very rarely, pants.

Mommy & her baby girl!

This is my "I've got lots of facial products on my face right now" look!  HAHA

Ever since I invested in the Clarisonic Mia, I've been really diligent about my face!  It's so much easier now!  LOL

I've battled with cystic acne all my life and have went on Accutane twice with success but since my acne is hormonal, I'm afraid I'll never be 100% rid of it without diligent care of my face!

*sigh*

Plus, 30 is right around the corner for me, so it's past time to adopt a skincare routine!

My kids, my daughter in particular, LOVE The Fresh Beat Band that comes on Nickelodeon.

I was on the Savannah Civic Center website trying to see what country artist was coming to Savannah next and got the shock of finding out that TFBB is coming to Savannah!

MY DAUGHTER WILL FLIP!!!

And, y'all, that date, October 5th......IS HER BIRTHDAY!

I kid you not!

TFBB will be in Savannah on my child's birthday!

You can bet your entire bank account that I will be taking her and my son.  I about flipped when I saw that!  It was definitely a meant to be event!!

So, that was pretty much my weekend in a nutshell.

Not to eventful; just the way I like 'em!  ;-)

How was y'alls weekend???

Happy Monday!!

going on, just not with my tail sitting on a fence post.

There would be one less fence post in the world if my backside were to perch on one for any extended amount of time ;-)

HAPPY SATURDAY, readers!!!!

Happy, happy Friday!!

I'm linking up with Heather over @ Blonde...Undercover Blonde and Katie over @ The Nerdy Katie for

Why I haven't linked up with her for this before, I'll never know.

As much as I read, you'd figure this would be an automatic link-up!

Anyway, what I'm reading this week...

Synopsis

Lucy’s investigation will take her into an underground network of prostitutes, the chambers of the country’s most powerful players, and her own dark past to confront an unknown enemy who’s always one step ahead of her. With the help of her P.I. boyfriend Sean Rogan, Lucy must find and protect the only witness who can identify the killer and end the conspiracy, but can the witness be trusted? Lucy will risk everything to expose the truth and ensure justice is served, even if that means putting herself in the line of fire…

******

This is the 3rd or 4th (I was too lazy to go back & find out for sure) book involving Lucy Kincaid and her boyfriend Sean Rogan as the heroine & hero.
There's a bit of a backstory that I won't get into in case anyone wants to read them & I'd hate to give away any spoilers.
However, any and all of these books can also be read alone without being lost because there's not too much information you'd need to know from other books.
Unless you're like me and just can't stand to read one book that's connected to others and NOT read all the rest!  :)

Overall, I liked the book, but it definitely wasn't my favorite of hers.

Synopsis

From New York Times bestselling author Catherine Anderson comes the emotionally gripping story of a woman who must overcome her painful past before she can accept a good man’s love...
1890, Oregon. Recently widowed Kate Blakely is struggling to make ends meet on her small farm while trying to heal from the scars of her late husband’s cruelty. When her handsome, brawny neighbor, Zachariah McGovern, almost dies while saving her four-year-old daughter from a near fatal accident, Kate is deeply wary of the man she brings into her home to nurse back to health.
Gradually Kate realizes that underneath Zach’s rough exterior is a gentle, loving soul who is fiercely protective of her and her daughter. But as much as Zach longs for Kate’s love, she knows she can’t open her heart without revealing her darkest secret—a shocking truth that, if discovered, could destroy them both.

******

I've read all of Catherine Anderson's books and this one didn't let me down.

It's fairly easy HEA story with very little conflict but enough to keep my interest.  If you want something sweet and a story about a woman finding her way back to being able to open her heart up to a new man, then this one would probably be do it for ya.

And for my last book of the week....

Synopsis

One of the romance writing industry's brightest stars'(Romance Reviews Today) returns with a flat-out delightful, new, and sexy contemporary romance about a woman who's happy being single-and the man determined to change her mind.
Independent single mother Tamara Briggs wanted to find a new, sexy, no-strings-attached man-just not one as young as NASCAR driver Elec Monroe. But he sure does get her heart racing. And after she's tricked into a blind date with him, Tamara gives in to her passion. Things screech to a halt, though, when he asks to meet her children. Whatever happened to wham-bam-thank-youma-am- Suddenly Tamara has to decide how much risk she's willing to take to experience the power of true love.

******

This was my first book by Erin McCarthy and I've already started on the 2nd book in this Fast Track Series.

It was a really good book.  Again, a pretty easy read with very little drama, but it had some pretty comedic moments that I surely enjoyed!  I'm going to start the 2nd book & let y'all know how I feel about that one next week!  :)

And there y'all have my books I've read for the week!  I'm sure there will be plenty more to come over the weekend that I'll be more than happy to report back on next Friday!

Happy Friday!! :)
